Techniques are provided for transmission of measurement reports from a UE to a base station. A method may include receiving (402) a measurement configuration message from a serving cell. The method may include determining (406) a report value from the measurement configuration message, the report value indicating a number of measurement reports to be transmitted to the serving cell. The method may include, based on the number of measurement reports indicated by the report value, determining whether to wait for a signal measurement result of at least one neighboring cell to become available prior to sending a measurement report to the serving cell.
