PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molten salt electrolytic device and a method therefor in which the spacing between electrodes is narrowed to suppress heat generation caused by the liquid resistance of a molten salt, and further capable of suppressing deterioration in electrolytic current efficiency and the increase of electrolytic voltage to improve an electric power consumption rate upon electrolysis.SOLUTION: The molten salt electrolytic device comprises: an electrolytic tank 10 storing as an electrolyte a molten salt which is a molten metal chloride; and an electrode unit U having an anode 30 provided with an anode face part 30a and a cathode 40 provided with a cathode face part 40b confronted with the anode face part, and immersed into the molten salt. The respective anode face part and cathode face part are inclinedly arranged, and the ones confronted in the anode face part and the cathode face part respectively have a zigzag shape part ZG, and the zigzag shape part has projecting parts 32, 42 and recessed parts 34, 44. |
