PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light emitting element with an excellent mounting property and an excellent light emitting characteristic.SOLUTION: The semiconductor light emitting element has: an n-type semiconductor layer on which an n-side pad electrode is arranged; and a p-type semiconductor layer on which a p-side pad electrode is arranged. The n-side and p-side pad electrodes are arranged on the same surface side of the p-type semiconductor layer, and have a rectangular shape in a plane view. The n-side pad electrode has an n-side pad section arranged at a center region in a short-side direction, a first n-side extension section extending toward a long side from the pad section, and a second n-side extension section extending toward the p-side pad section along the long side from its end. The p-side pad electrode has a p-side pad section arranged at the center region, and a p-side extension section extending toward the n-side pad section from the p-side pad section. The p-side extension section at least partially extends on a region opposite to a second n-side extension section arrangement region from the center region. The second n-side extension section and the p-side extension section include a portion in which lines parallel to a short side are overlaid in a longitudinal direction in a plane view. |
