PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head having improved reliability and stability, a head gimbal assembly provided with the magnetic head and a disk device.SOLUTION: A magnetic head comprises: a head slider 42; and a recording element 65 and a reproducing element 66 provided inside an outflow side end portion of the head slider 42 with respect to airflow. A supporting surface 43 of the head slider 42 comprises: a reading step 52 provided at an inflow side end portion with respect to the airflow; a skirt portion 72 that is provided at an inflow side end and extends in a width direction of the head slider 42; a reading pad 53 that has a coupling portion 53b extending to the skirt portion 72 at a central portion in the width direction while being provided on the reading step 52; first groove surfaces 74 that are provided at both sides of the coupling portion 53b and are continued to a central portion at a downstream side of the skirt portion 72; second groove surfaces 76 that are provided upstream the first groove surfaces 74 and are deeper than the first groove surfaces 74; and negative pressure generating grooves 78 that are provided at both sides of the first groove surfaces 74 in the width direction among the second groove surfaces 76 and the skirt portion 72 and are deeper than the second groove surfaces 76. |
