PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element which exhibits high luminous efficiency, has long luminous lifetime and where luminous defects are reduced, and to provide a display unit and a lighting device having the organic electroluminescent element.SOLUTION: In an organic electroluminescent element where a first electrode, a structure layer containing at least a luminous layer, and a second electrode are laminated on a substrate in this order, and light is emitted from a second electrode side.
