An analog-to-digital converter having a DC/DC transformer for low voltage operation is provided. A successive approximation register (SAR)-ADC converter including: a capacitor digital analog converter (CDAC) which a capacitor and a switch are connected to in serial or parallel, generates a comparison voltage by applying a reference voltage to the switch, has a ground switch which is connected in between a terminal of the capacitor connected to a comparator and ground electrode, and has an input voltage applied to the other side of the terminal of the capacitor which is connected to the comparator; the comparator which is connected to the CDAC for generating a compared result by comparing the difference between the comparison voltage and the sampled input voltage with the ground electrode; a register for receiving and storing the compared result from the comparator; an SAR logic unit for receiving the compared result from the register and determining the final digital code which corresponds to the comparison voltage based on the compared result; a switching logic unit for receiving the digital code and controlling switching operation of the CDAC; and a switch capacitor (SC)-DC/DC transformer which has a capacitor and a switching device which are connected to in serial or parallel, receiving a driving voltage to provide the reference voltage to the CDAC, controlling and outputting the reference voltage to a level lower than the driving voltage.
