PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of printing image data including a color code symbol without damaging information retained in the code symbol even in an environment where only monochrome printing can be performed due to a print setting and an apparatus capability.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus extracts a code symbol from input image data, and acquires code symbol information from the extracted code symbol, determines whether an image output by subjecting the input image data to image processing is monochrome, generates a monochrome code symbol based on the acquired code symbol information if it determines that the output image is monochrome from a determination result, and combines the generated monochrome code symbol with the output image and outputs a composite image. |
