PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel load computation method which enables computation of a vertical load acting on each wheel without using load sensor outputs, and to provide a vehicle cruise control unit which uses such method, and a vehicle cruising device having such control unit.SOLUTION: A vehicle cruise control unit includes an acting load arithmetic section 120. The acting load arithmetic section 120 computes arithmetic acting load values eWWi representing computed values of acting vertical loads WW from; arithmetic supply current values eISi representing computed values of motor supply currents IS; torque constant setting values eKi representing setting values of torque constants K; an arithmetic friction coefficient value eμ representing a computed value of a road friction coefficient μ: rotation radius setting values eRi representing setting values of rotation radii R; and an equation "eWWi=(eKi×eISi)/(eμ×eRi)".
