PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To principally solve such a problem that welding is difficult when configuring a sealing body, because a plane for welding a positive electrode cap and the sealing body is very narrow, in a battery module in which cylindrical secondary batteries are fixed by welding via a projection formed in a sealing plate.SOLUTION: The cylindrical secondary battery includes a battery outer can having an opening also serving as the terminal of one pole, a sealing body also serving as the terminal of the other pole located at the opening, and an electrode body in which a collector is connected with the end of at least one of positive and negative electrodes housed in the battery outer can. A positive electrode cap constituting the sealing body has a space for housing a valve body and a flange. The flange is formed at an acute angle with the sidewall of the space, and the flange and sealing body are fixed by welding. |
