PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of knocking.SOLUTION: An ECM 20 of an internal combustion engine system 1 includes a reforming catalyst 17 that generates reformed gas in an EGR gas passage 16 branched from a portion on the front side of an exhaust purification catalyst 15. When an engine operation point is within an EGR region, the ECM 20 determines whether or not a reforming control execution condition is achieved. The ECM 20 sets an injection amount required for generation of reformed gas when the reforming control execution condition is achieved, and sets an injection amount that is smaller than the injection amount required for generation of reformed gas and that can reduce nitrogen oxide included in EGR gas when the reforming control execution condition is not achieved. Then, the ECM 20 injects the set injection amount from a reforming injection valve 18. |
