PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle drive device capable of suppressing mechanical loss without increasing cost and mass.SOLUTION: In a case of executing an up-shift operation from a present gear position to a subsequent gear position, up-shift execution means 13 increases rotational torque of a motor MG while reducing rotational torque of an engine EG; actuates a shift actuator to disengage dog clutches 61-63a engaged with idler gears 43, 44, 45, 51, 52 of the present gear position, from the idler gears; disengages a clutch C after a predetermined time has elapsed; actuates the shift actuator to make the dog clutch to be engaged with the idler gear of the subsequent gear position, be engaged with the idler gear, so that the idler gear of the subsequent gear position is rotatably connected to a shaft at which the idler gear of the subsequent gear position is arranged; and the clutch are engaged. Thus the up-shift operation is executed. |
