PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of lipid therapy.SOLUTION: A method for utilizing omega-3 fatty acid, or a combination of a dyslipidemic agent and omega-3 fatty acid reduces lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A(Lp-PLA) level. The method is especially useful in the treatment of a patient with primary hypercholesterolemia or hypertriglyceridemia or mixed dyslipidemia, coronary heart disease (CHD), vascular disease, atherosclerotic disease and related conditions, and for the prevention or reduction of a major adverse cardiovascular event (MACE), a major coronary event (MCE), particularly myocardial infarction (MI), revascularization and ischemic stroke. |
