PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor with a brake which, even when repeated or large regenerative torque is generated, is capable of braking the torque without converting the torque into electric power and capable of eliminating the necessity of a regenerative resistor or reducing its capacity.SOLUTION: A brake for braking a rotary drum 61 to be rotated by power running torque of an inverter motor 21 is used as a wet type multiple disc brake device 31 using a rotating shaft of a first carrier 5 to be an intermediate shaft of a planetary reduction gear 1 coupled with the inverter motor 21 as a braking shaft and performing braking while allowing sliding between a rotating disk plate 38 and a braking disk plate 39, which constitute a brake part, with a lubricant, so that generated regenerative torque can be efficiently absorbed and the necessity of a regenerative resistor can be eliminated or the capacity of the regenerative resistor can be reduced. |
