The method involves setting the required braking process by controlling the vehicle deceleration during the performance of the activation requirements, in which a reference deceleration (a-s) is given. The required braking pressure is determined by an adjustable controlling part (RA1,RA2,RA3,RA4) depending on a determined actual-deceleration (a-i). An individual controlling part is adjusted for each brake actuator or for each defined group of brake actuators.
