<p>The method involves beheading the fish and cutting the tail of the fish. The abdominal cavity is opened and the intestines are removed. The spine (1) of the fish is removed by a rotatable knife (4). The fillet deflectors (2) whose cross sections increase in size in both vertically and horizontally in the moving direction are aligned with the blade. The fillet deflectors are provided with longitudinally extending receiving groove (5) in the central portion for removing bones (9) during the passage of fish on a sliding edge scraper. An independent claim is included for a device for automatic recovering of flesh of slaughtered fish.</p>
