PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for catalytic hydrogenation of methylenedianiline feedstock with high impurity content commonly referred to as MDA-50 and MDA-60.SOLUTION: In a process for catalytic hydrogenation of methylenedianiline to its ring hydrogenated counterparts by contacting methylenedianiline with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst system comprising rhodium and ruthenium carried on a support comprises: utilizing methylenedianiline feedstock having at least 40 mass% of polycyclic oligomer impurities; and effecting the hydrogenation in the presence of a catalyst system comprising rhodium and ruthenium carried on a lithium aluminate support.
