PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer structure bar code for print on-demand document management.SOLUTION: A document management method includes the steps of: collecting text data of a plurality of pages with respect to a first layer bar code; encoding data collected with respect to the first layer bar code; writing the first layer bar code at least in one page of the document; acquiring key information of the document from the collected data; collecting data of at least other one page with respect to a second layer bar code regarding at least other one page of the document; encoding the key information of the document and data of at least the other one page with respect to the second layer bar code; and writing the second layer bar code at least in the other one page of the document in such a manner that at least the other one page of the document has the corresponding second layer bar code.
