The airplane has an airplane fuselage and an air conditioning system with an air conditioning unit (2), which is based on the principle of air circulation and has a water separator (16). The water separator has an overflow device (42), which is coupled with an air discharge pipe (44) that extends in the pressurized area (24) of the airplane. The air conditioning unit is arranged in the non-pressurized area (46) of the airplane. The air discharge pipe is made of flexible plastic material. An independent claim is included for a method for discharging air from a water separator of an air conditioning unit.
