A control unit of a travel expense settlement system acquires an event schedule from a schedule storage unit and identifies event contents, and if the event contents satisfy an authorization condition, identifies transit paths on the basis of event locations in the event schedule, calculates a travel expense corresponding to the transit path, and registers an application for settlement of the travel expense, which includes the travel expense and authorization information, in an application management storage unit.
