The present invention relates to a rubbing device for a liquid crystal display and a rubbing method using the same. The rubbing device for a liquid crystal display according to the present invention comprises: a rubbing roller in which at least one suction part is formed along a length direction such that air flows from the outside to a central axis; a rubbing cloth which includes a rubbing base and rubbing piles fixed and installed onto a surface of the rubbing base, and of which both ends are wound on the rubbing roller as being spaced at regular intervals such that at least a part of the suction part is exposed; and an air suction unit which is formed to be connected to the suction part, coupled to at least one of both longitudinal ends of the rubbing roller, and enables air to be inhaled through the suction unit during rubbing such that rubbing piles positioned at an area adjacent to both the ends of the rubbing cloth are inclined toward the suction part. Therefore, provided are the rubbing device for the liquid crystal device and the rubbing method using the same, capable of improving the quality of a screen by reducing rubbing defects by tilting the rubbing piles of the rubbing cloth, positioned at the area adjacent to both the ends of the rubbing roller, toward the central axis of the rubbing roller during the rubbing. |
