This reduction gear (1) provided with a speed ratio switching mechanism is provided with a rotary transmission member (5) and a speed ratio switching member (21). The rotary transmission member (5) is provided with a claw (6N) that can protrude/retract; the claw (6N) can fit a fitting location corresponding to a first position or second position at a rotary transmission reception section; the claw (6N) fits the fitting section during the rotation of the rotary transmission member (5); the claw (6N) disengages from the fitting section when the speed ratio switching member (21) operates; and the motion in the axial direction of the rotary transmission member (5) is limited during the rotation of the rotary transmission member (5).
