The battery cell (1) has a current collector (20) penetrating through a housing (10), where the current collector is electrically and conductively connected to an electrode of the battery cell. An electrically insulating seal (30) is provided between the housing and the current collector, where the material of the seal includes nanoparticles, and the seal is produced by a primary forming process. The seal seals the interior space of the housing against air and/or fluid. A fuse (40) is arranged in the current collector. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for manufacturing a lithium-ion battery cell (2) an electric motor powered car.
