The winding shaft (1) has central drive shaft, on which axially adjacent multiple receiving rings are inserted in a rotating manner. A clamping element (6) for clamping a winding tube is supported on an outer surface of the winding shaft. A magneto- or electro-rheological fluid is arranged for producing a frictional connection between the receiving rings and a drive shaft. The elements for generating magnetic or electric fields are arranged in the drive shaft, by which the viscosity of the magneto- or electro-rheological fluid is influenced.
