PURPOSE: A crash box manufacturing method and a crash box are provided to simply and rapidly form through-holes hard to form on a drawing-processed product. CONSTITUTION: A crash box manufacturing method is as follows. A material with one or more through-holes (105) is seated on a die in which a groove is formed. A material seated on the die is pressed simultaneously with pressing the material with a punch of a shape corresponding to the groove, thereby being drawing-process into a shape corresponding to the shape of the punch. The drawing-processed material is connected to a connection unit with an expanded structure. The through-holes are formed into an elliptic shape having a long axis in a peripheral direction of the material. |
