The present invention relates to a highlight clip recording apparatus and a method thereof, which adjusts a highlight clip to be within the amount of a preset highlight time and automatically records the highlight clip while recording the highlight clip by connecting at least one moment capturing image of the amount of a predetermined time before and after a moment capturing time point if a video screen is instantly captured when a video screen which is wanted to record only a part is generated during a photographing or replay of a video. A photographed video is temporarily stored in a RAM if a user photographs the video, at least one moment capturing image which corresponds to a predetermined time before and after a moment capturing time point is extracted from the RAM if at least one moment capturing signal is generated, a highlight clip is recorded by being connected to at least one video, and the highlight clip is stored in a recording medium by being automatically adjusted and recorded to be within the amount of a preset highlight time. Like the forementioned, a user is able to produce and record a highlight clip easily and conveniently by extracting multiple videos of a desired part during a photographing and automatically adjusting the highlight clip to be within the amount of a preset highlight time.
