The present invention relates to a mobile terminal with a large screen and a content selecting method for the same, which are capable of setting a selectable area which fingers can reach with the terminal gripped by the user and if a predetermined area is selected on a screen on which content is displayed, displaying a mini map having a hierarchical structure in the selectable area according to a screen display type and a terminal grip type to reduce the size of content in the dead zone which the fingers cannot reach and display the content on the displayed mini map so that the user can readily select the content positioned in the dead zone on a large screen with one hand.
