Control of vehicle body tilting when a railway vehicle travels along a curve includes: detecting the pressure of compressed air in an air tank; driving a compressor that supplies compressed air to the air tank when detecting a pressure drop in the air tank to or below a first threshold level P 1 in association with introduction of compressed air into air springs; and limiting the amount of compressed air to be introduced from the air tank into the air springs to a level equal to or lower than the amount of compressed air to be supplied from the compressor to the air tank while continuing the introduction from the air tank into the air springs so as to ensure that the air tank pressure is maintained at a level equal to or higher than a minimum level required for braking actuation of the railway vehicle. Consequently, a deterioration in ride comfort can be inhibited when traveling along a curve without causing trouble with braking actuation.
|
