Chromatic dispersion compensation in a coherent optical receiver

It is disclosed a method for compensating chromatic dispersion affecting an optical signal received at a coherent optical receiver of a node of an optical communication network. The method comprises the steps of receiving a chromatic dispersion information indicative of the chromatic dispersion; on the basis of the received chromatic dispersion information, determining one or more target computational parameters which provide a minimized number of operations for compensating the chromatic dispersion; and compensating the chromatic dispersion using the one or more target computational parameters.
