The present invention relates to an apparatus for monitoring a status of a reactor. The apparatus for monitoring the status of a reactor according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention is installed on a motor driving system for monitoring the state of a reactor for protecting a condenser to prevent a motor driving condenser from an over-current. The apparatus comprises a current calculation unit for calculating the current flowing into the reactor for protecting the condenser and turning off a switch for the motor driving condenser if it is determined that the calculated current is more than a preset value; and an alarm unit to provide a warning to the outside in correspondence with turning off a switch therefor.
