PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulation resistance meter for preventing lowering of measurement accuracy caused by exhaustion of a battery. SOLUTION: This insulation resistance meter includes a high voltage generating section 11 for generating a measurement voltage Vm by raising a battery voltage Vb, a measuring section 13 for measuring a resistance value of an object 200 to be measured on the basis of a current Im flowing in the object 200 to be measured by application of the measurement voltage Vm, and an indication meter 14 for indicating a resistance value in such a manner that the more rotational amount is required for rotation of an indication needle, the smaller the resistance value is. The insulation resistance meter further includes a constant current generating section 15, switches 16a, 16b and a connection/disconnection control section 17, as a processing section that is adapted to perform a notification process for issuing a notification of lowering of the battery voltage Vb by allowing the indication meter 14 to rotate the indication needle to a position indicative of a low resistance value when the battery voltage Vb is equal to or less than a predetermined value under a condition that a major switch 33 is operated.
