The invention relates to a radial press comprising a housing (1) and several pressing jaws (4) arranged concentrically about a press axis (2) therein. Said pressing jaws are supported in a sliding manner on associated sliding surfaces (6) angled from the press axis, and a pressure plate (7) that can be moved along the press axis by means of a driving mechanism (8) acts on the pressing jaws at the end faces thereof. The driving mechanism comprises several hydraulic cylinder-piston units (9) having cylinders (10) fastened to the housing and piston rods (11) acting on the pressure plate. The piston rods (11) have spherical head pieces (13) at the ends of the piston rods. The spherical head pieces are supported in spherical counter-bearings (17) formed on the pressure plate (7).
