The present invention relates to a purifying method for high purity ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (EMI-BF4) comprising: a step of preparing synthesized EMI-BF4 (1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate); a step of removing precipitates existing in the synthesized EMI-BF4 by passing the synthesized EMI-BF4 through a glass filter; a step of performing primary vacuum distillation on the EMI-BF4 in which precipitates are removed; a step of mixing a distilled water mixture and the EMI-BF4 in a predetermined ratio and extracting ionic liquids with a liquid/liquid continuous extraction process by an extraction solvent; a step of drying the extracted ionic liquid by removing moisture; and a step of performing secondary vacuum distillation on the dried EMI-BF4.
