1325213 Jet looms CARRINGTON & DEW HURST Ltd 22 Nov 1971 [27 Nov 1970] 56842/70 Heading DIE A fluid jet loom has weft patterning which allows the insertion of a number of wefts in any desired sequence, weft mixing or take-up to continue without the insertion of any weft. Wefts p, p' pass through individual preloaded tensions 25, around guides 26, through nip rollers 10, 11, into suction storage tubes 20 and from the suction storage tubes 20 to clamps 19 and a slidable infection head IH having separate picking nozzles 49 for each weft. The nip rollers 10, 11 rotate continuously are are selectively movable apart by a pattern mechanism so that they cease to feed weft, the same pattern mechanism operating to selectively open and close the clamps 19 and to move the injection head IH to position a nozzle 49 in the picking position. The pattern mechanism may be a photo-electric device operating from reflective strips on an endless card, a programme card with apertures therein to allow feelers to pass through and make electrical contact to operate the various mechanisms, the mechanisms may be operated from the loom dobby, or a cam a lever mechanism may be provided for an unvarying sequence of weft picking. |
