An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) manufacturing method is provided to reduce manufacturing processes and costs by reducing the number of masks and perform repair of a data line automatically, thereby improving image quality and improving an yield by removing defects. A first substrate(110) is provided. A first insulating layer(115a) is formed on the first substrate. An active pattern(124) and source/drain electrodes(122,123) are formed on the first substrate. A data line(117) defining a pixel area by crossing the gate line is formed. A second insulating layer(115b) is formed on the first substrate. By removing a partial area of the second insulating layer, a contact hole for exposing a part of the drain electrode is formed. A separation hole(H) for separating a defect pattern formed in a side of the data line from the data line is formed. A pixel electrode(118) electrically connected with the drain electrode through the contact hole is formed. The first substrate and a second substrate are attached to each other. |
