The purpose of the present invention is to form a liquid crystal display device with improved light stability and provide liquid crystal alignment agents with enhanced applicability and reworkability. The present invention is liquid crystal alignment agents containing [A] a compound represented by a following formula (1) and [B] a polymer. In the following formula (1), R1 represents a group that a hydrogen atom, a monovalent aromatic hydrocarbon group of 6 to 20 carbon atoms, a monovalent heterocyclic group of 4 to 20 carbon atoms, or a part of the whole of the carbon atoms, which the aromatic hydrocarbon group and the heterocyclic group have, is substituted with a substituent. R2 represents an alkyl group of 1 to 12 carbon atoms or an alkoxy group of 1 to 12 carbon atoms. R3 and R4 represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkyl group of 1 to 20 carbon atoms. [B] The polymer is preferably at least one selected from a group consisting of polyamic acid, polyimide, and polysiloxane, and more preferably at least one selected from a group consisting of polyamic acid and polyimide. |
