Refractory line metal tubing - made by casting metal round refractory core

The heat insulating cast component is mfd. by the prior prodn. of a refractory material component which is inserted into a casting mould, where a melt is cast round it, solidifying into an outer casing. If hollow the refractory material is filled with a core material, prior to insertion into the mould. The method is used for pipes and is partic. useful for curved and elbow sections.
