<p>The invention is related to hydrogen sulfide scavenging additive, capable of scavenging hydrogen sulfide in hydrocarbons by forming water soluble scavenged products which are capable of getting separated from hydrocarbon even at acidic pH without causing fouling and decomposition problems, consisting of aldehyde or aldehyde and polyethylene glycol [PEG], and wherein said aldehyde is glyoxylic acid. The invention is also related to a method of scavenging hydrogen sulfide employing present scavenging additive.</p> |
