PURPOSE: A directional selection ground protective relay system in an ungrounded DC feeding system for an electric railroad and a control method thereof easily determine an accident area by connecting state information between substations. CONSTITUTION: An initial ground detection part detects the possibility of ground accidents. A ground determination part determines the ground by generating feeder state information. A feeder state information communication part (300) transmits the feeder state information to and receives it from an adjacent base station. A ground area determination part (400) determines a ground accident area by comparing the feeder state information. A circuit breaker control part (500) blocks a ground area.
