PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion conductivity-imparting agent for a cathode catalyst layer of an anion-exchange membrane fuel cell, good in compatibility of a hydrocarbon based anion-exchange membrane and a cathode catalyst layer at a junction interface therebetween, and high in initial performance, and further to provide an ion conductivity-imparting agent hardly causing deterioration in performance even after long usage.SOLUTION: An ion conductivity-imparting agent used in forming a cathode catalyst layer of an anion-exchange membrane fuel cell is made of a hydrocarbon based anion-exchange resin having an anion exchange capacity of 1.8-3.5 mmol/g.
