PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing efficiently a homogeneous thermoplastic resin foam.SOLUTION: A method of producing a thermoplastic resin foam of the invention includes heating and foaming a solid body 10b composed of thermoplastic resin composition including a thermoplastic resin and a pyrolytic foaming agent. In the method, the solid body 10b is heated with near infrared radiation 15,15 and then heated with hot wind for foaming.
