PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a mobile communication terminal which performs radio communication to reduce power to be consumed before starting operation for detecting information originated from an access point.SOLUTION: When a mobile communication terminal 10 receives a signal originated from a radio base station 20b (step S23), the mobile communication terminal 10 detects radio base station information indicated by the received signal, and measures the time at which the mobile communication terminal 10 has started the detection as the detection start time (step S41). The mobile communication terminal 10 calculates an average elapsed time-period by using the measured detection start time (step S43), and determines a time period for starting detection according to the calculated average elapsed time-period (step S44). When the mobile communication terminal 10 determines that the time period for starting detection has passed from the detection start time (step S45:YES), the mobile communication terminal 10 starts operation for detecting connection information originated from an AP (Access Point) 30 (step S46).
