PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen able to exhibit an excellent display characteristic (in particular, brightness and an angle of field) by controlling light scatter characteristics, and to provide an image display system.SOLUTION: A screen 2 has a high molecule dispersion type liquid crystal layer 25 formed by dispersing liquid crystal molecules 253 among high molecules 252 and separating the liquid crystal molecules 253 from the high molecules 252 in terms of phase. In the state of electric field non-generation in which an electric field does not act on the high molecule dispersion type liquid crystal layer 25, the screen 2 comes into a transmission state. In the state of electric field generation in which an electric field acts on the high molecule dispersion type liquid crystal layer 25, the screen 2 comes into a dispersion state. The twist angle of the high molecules 252 is 0° or greater but less than 180°. |
