PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting insert that in mist cutting, can efficiently supply a cutting portion with a coolant and effectively cool a cutting blade so as to stably keep the cutting blade sharp.SOLUTION: The cutting insert 1 comprises a polygonal-plate insert body 2, in which a rake face 4 is formed on an upper face 3 facing in the thickness direction of the insert body 2; a flank face 6 is formed on a side face 5 facing in the direction of intersecting with the thickness direction of the insert body 2; and a cutting blade 7 is formed on a ridge line where the rake face 4 intersects with the flank face 6. On the upper face 3 of the insert body 2, a recessed coolant accumulation 10 is formed. At least on a corner of the insert body 2, a coolant flow passage 11 communicated with the coolant accumulation 10 to approach to the cutting blade 7 is formed. |
