PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a negative electrode active material having a composition of mica group mineral, which is excellent in productivity.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a glass-like negative electrode active material includes: a heat treatment step in which a raw material mixed object having a composition capable of forming mica group mineral is heat-treated at a heat treatment temperature higher than a fusion temperature of the raw material mixed object to form a molten raw material; and a cooling step in which the molten raw material is cooled to be vitrified.
