摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery good in charge/discharge cycle characteristics and high in safety, under a high-temperature environment.SOLUTION: There are provided: a positive electrode active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, which is a particle of a lithium-manganese composite oxide represented by general formula: LiMnMO(where 0≤x≤1 and 0≤y≤0.5 are satisfied, and M represents one or more selected from the group consisting of Fe, Ni, Co, Al, Mg, Ti and Zr.) and produced in a method including a step of covering the surface of the composite oxide particle with a phosphate film and carbon, in this order; and a method for producing the positive electrode active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery.
