PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device without malfunction and having a new constitution in which a light receiving element can be installed while avoiding a display area, and an input system including the same.SOLUTION: A coordinate input system 1 includes: a coordinate input device having an operation pen 8 and a coordinate input module 3A; and a liquid crystal display module 2. In the operation pen 8, a pen tip (specifically, a light diffusion portion) of the operation pen 8 causes a part of light propagating through a light guide plate 10 of the coordinate input module 3A to be incident from a contact surface in contact with an upper surface of the light guide plate 10 and cause the incident light to be diffused and be incident on the light guide plate 10 again through the contact surface in contact with the upper surface of the light guide plate 10. |
