PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve calibration function calculation without moving a projection plate in a laser ranging device.SOLUTION: A projection plate is prepared which has a surface vertical to an irradiation reference axis of a laser beam and has an origin provided in a position being at a distance (d) from a projecting unit along the irradiation reference axis and is provided with a reflection mark which reflects the laser beam at a prescribed position in a vertical or horizontal direction from the origin. The projection plate is irradiated with the laser beam from the projecting unit while changing an angle of irradiation (S10), and a calibration function for correcting distortion of a magnifying lens is calculated from an angle corresponding to the position of the reflection mark and the angle of irradiation which an angle adjustment unit sets when the laser beam reflected by the reflection mark of the projection plate is received (S12 to S16).
