PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a sheet pad capable of simply and assuredly setting a backing material all the way to the inner peripheral edge of the rear plane side of a pad body, of preventing a more-than-necessary excessive release of a foaming gas at the time of foam molding, and of eliminating hardness irregularities.SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing a sheet pad wherein a sheet-shaped backing material 7 is set within a foaming mold 1 and wherein a pad body 6 whose rear plane 6b is covered and integrated with the backing material 7 is molded by dispensing a foaming raw ingredient g into the mold and by closing the same, the foaming mold 1 comprises a concave mold 2 having a concave cross-sectional shape and a pairing mold 3 for realizing a mold-closed state by lidding the former; a void K is formed, by the concave mold 2 and pairing mold 3 in a mold-closed state, on mold split faces 25 and 35 related respectively to both molds 2 and 3 on outer sides of mutually butting portions 26 and 36 embodying the parting line PL of the pad body; moreover, mold butting planes 27 and 37 are formed on outer sides of the void K; a backing material 7 of a size inducing the spillover of the outer peripheral portion 72 thereof beyond the butting portion 36 in a mold-closed state is set within the foaming mold 1; the outer peripheral portion 72 is subsequently nipped by both butting portions 26 and 36 and sealed by mold butting planes 27 and 37 in a mold-closed state. |
