PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission capable of reducing number of components and reducing manufacturing processes in a structure including a brake case member having a first cylindrical portion which is formed into a cylindrical shape and to which a friction plate is spline-fitted at its inner peripheral side.SOLUTION: In a brake device 10, a brake case member 13 is provided with a first fitting portion 13d extending from a second cylindrical portion 13c to an inner peripheral side and fitted to a clearance gap D between projecting portions 2C, a return plate 15 is provided with a second fitting portion 15b extending to the inner peripheral side and fitted to the clearance gap D between the projecting portions 2C, and the second fitting portion 15b is positioned to the projecting portions 2C by a snap ring 20 disposed at an axial X1 direction side with respect to the second fitting portion. Thus the brake case member 13 and the return plate 15 can be simultaneously positioned and fixed to a mission case 2 only by assembling one snap ring 20. |
