PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the operating state of a current breaker in a power storage block having a plurality of power storage elements connected in parallel.SOLUTION: A power storage system has a plurality of power storage blocks connected in series each having a plurality of power storage elements connected in parallel and a controller for determining the state of each of the power storage blocks. The power storage elements each have a current breaker for cutting off a current path inside the power storage element. The controller sends, to the power storage blocks, a current which is smaller than a reference current value by which the current breaker is actuated and which has the magnitude of a current flowing, by reason that a prescribed number of current breakers inside the power storage block have been actuated, into one or more of the power storage elements whose current breaker is not actuated and rising above the reference current value to become large enough to actuate all of the non-actuated current breakers inside the power storage block, and determines, on the basis of the detected voltage or current value of the power storage block, the power storage block which has had its current breakers actuated. |
